Description of Classes

Beginning introduces students to fundamental yoga postures, including stretching, strengthening, balance and alignment in the postures. Emphasis on standing, seated, and relaxation poses.

Beyond Beginning is a bridge between beginning and continuing classes. Completion of two prior beginning series required.

Continuing is for the student who has completed at least six months of the beginning course. It builds on the study of fundamental poses and introduces inversions and back arches. Home practice is highly encouraged.

Beginning & Continuing is for both beginning and continuing students.

Intermediate is for those continuing students with a personal practice and an understanding of how to work with their specific needs.

Vinyasa Yoga is a physically challenging vigorous, breath based practice consisting of strong flowing movement. Open to students of all ability levels who are INJURY FREE and can take care of themselves independently.

Iyengar Yoga is a method that emphasizes precise alignment and the use of props to enable all students to benefit from the effects of poses. It is named after living master BKS Iyengar of Pune, India. Its teachers typically follow a common syllabus and methodology.

Yoga for Women will focus on using yoga to facilitate a smooth transition through midlife, menopause, and post-menopause.

Yoga and Pregnancy is preparation for a more comfortable and mindful childbirth. Ongoing classes are offered from early pregnancy through delivery. All levels welcome.

Ageless Yoga is a fun experience, ideal for senior citizens and anyone wanting a slower-paced class. Using gentle postures and movement one builds strength, flexibility and grace while developing peacefully with appropriate challenges.

Donataion Only Class is for all levels and open to anyone who wants to experience the benefits and joys of yoga. Pay whatever you can.

Pranayama Iyengar introduces students to accessing energy (prana) through the breath. Participants must be experienced students of Iyengar yoga who maintain a personal practice. Class is intended as an addition to regular asana class attendance. Instruction permission required.

Anusara yoga was founded by John Friend in 1997. Anusara Yoga blends the precision of universal principles of alignment with a deep connection to the heart. Its uplifting philosophy celebrates life and looks for the good in all people and all things.
